Face #5 - Carlos

Thought I'd practice this face in my brown bag book before doing the "big" painting.  Messed up the proportions on the right side of his face, but I still like it.  Actually like this composition better than the one for the painting, but too late to change that unless I want to start over.  It'll be fine.  The graffiti was really FUN to do!

Lesson 4 - Diary of Faces.  Charles Frederick Goldie (1870-1947) depiction of Joan of Arc.  No one really knows what Joan looked like.  I wanted her to look more warrior-like, but also wanted her to look 19 which is how old she was when she was put to death.  I think she looks 19, but I did not accomplish warrior-like.  I really love painting Saints :)  Did not put this one in my Book of Faces because I want to hang it on the wall.
